But, this is a big risk to take publicly, too. Don't blame you a bit.
Actually, our start was public, we just didn't know it was the beginning of this.
It started out flirting in a thread he did, and then by email behind the scenes before we flirted publicly again. So...if you're interested in someone, flirt with them in a thread and see if you get a response. If not, no harm/no foul. If so, then it's mutual, and you can go for it privately without the whole world (literally) looking on.
