Just for S&Gs, read the websites of The Daily Reckoning and The Motley Fool.
You might like them, lots of great financial information

Da10th: I agree with you on that, however, fact of the matter still is, the bill will help everyone.

I also don't think that was always the case, there are countless cases where the mortgage companies gave really bad rates (Even when the buyer gave sufficient down & had excellent credit ratings).

I've bought 7 different houses in my life. No mortgage company held a gun to my head.

I think people should have read their agreements thoroughly before they signed. That's common sense with any contract.

Hugz_n_Kissez: Yes and those are just a couple of cases...you take anyone and place them in those circumstances...and it's not just tough...I am sorry to hear about your dad too...luckily I hope your dad at least got to keep his home...I am sure there are probably been those not quite sooo lucky in other circumstances where they have incurred such high debt from medical care raising families etc and who are already pushed to the limit finacially...It just steams me that money is the bottom line when it comes to human lives....

Of course it is... Do Canadians still run to Minot N.D. for medical care? Rather than wait on the Candian medical bureaucracy? dunno

I sold a house to a lady who I knew couldn't afford it. I personally didn't want her to buy it.

She lost 18 months later. thumbs down

Why should I feel any responsibility or compassion for anyone who looses their house due to their own greed and ignorance? Did anyone say to themselves that maybe house prices would follow historic trends and correct back to normal levels?
These same idiots were trading pickups every year, taking high priced vacations and buying big screen TVs on their supposed home equity.
Realistically, a house is a place to live and is not an ATM card.
Do they need to be retrained to figure that one out?

Agree'd not to mention numerous non-profit organizations that offer to review legal documentation for those that can't afford to hire an attorney.

I totally agree... If the screw up, yes times will be hard for them, but a lesson would be learned, and the less chance their would be, of making the mistake again.... but we all the tax payers are used as their cushion, they learn nothing the hard way...barf it makes me sick...cheers

No one will argue that BushII did a lot of things wrong, but most of his problem was allowing things to continue that had been in place through Clinton, Carter and Johnson as well as the Republicans Nixon, Reagan and BushI.
You can disagree if you want, but do your research before making a blanket statement.

I don't think I said anyplace that Bush was solely responsible for everything that's wrong..but he sure as hell didn't help matters any over the last 8 years...in fact he made matters worse...now I don't see where my statement was a blanket anything....thumbs up
