The plan released today has absolutely no chance of succeeding. If we have already pumped over $1T into the economy with no real affect, what is $75B more going to do? What do I get for working my butt off for 15 years to pay off my home? These idiots who knew up front that they could not make it float without an 8-10% increase in home values and annual refi's should pay for their own incompetance, not me. Why save when Uncle Sam will bail you out? Why be responsible when Uncle Sam will bail you out? Why produce anything if Uncle Sam will support you?
gypsykisses: they will not be included in the help...if you bought beyond your means, you are screwed.
Yep, as well as those that are speculators won't be included. (which in my opinion is the right decision, not the governments fault you made a bad investment)

and if you don't live in the home-bought it for investing, you are out...
gypsykisses: I'm just curious as to where you see it will help people that don't deserve the help. If you are up to date on your mortgage, there is a provision for you as well.
Well, the people who wanted to live like royalty on a peasants wages, no they do not deserve a bailout sorry...
It helps the people who are barely making their morgage payments..
It is only helping people who have their morgages through Franny and Freddy....
I am not asking this thread for myself, I own my home already so it doesn't really effect me anyways, my house cost 29k dollars then I put about 12k in it, so even though a couple of years ago it was worth 70k and now?????? but I'm still ahead and have no intention of selling anytime soon...

I agree and do like that too...
But what we are basing this all on is his talk, we truely won't know anything until the details come out...

I agree with you 100% with this. If you can't afford it, don't buy it. But again, some got snookered into sub-prime loans, that didn't need to be.

no, sorry, I didn't mean you personally, I meant you as a whole being of every one...Hopefully if this works, property values like yours will rise as should be.
The funny part is our local newspaper...funny not funny but ironic. They quit putting in the police blotter quite a while ago, you know, what fire was where, what crime was committed, even restaurant health department findings because there are so many foreclosures that have been taking place, they take up pages and pages of the newspaper.

I agree 100%, I just feel sorry for the people who could afford their home morgages at first but then got laid off, because of downsizing or their business going overseas.. I don't feel that in those cases it is their fault.. so that is why I say it will help some that deserve it...

I do agree with you there also....for those people, Lou Dobbs did a peice a few days ago, I can't remember who the lender was, but she paid like 30% or 30k down and they screwed her.... it may have been Franny or Freddy, but I don't remember..
there was a documentary just recently,,when the housing market took off everyone jumped on for the ride,,those investments financed 3rd world countrys, and brought many out of poverty,,here and abroad,,it was summed up very eloquently,,"human flaw",,greed,,its happened before,,and with all the history,,it will happen again

Italy101: 0BAMA will pull us out of the problems bush and the banks put us into! I have faith in him! It's not going to be easy and it's goin to take awhile, but i think what he is doin is the right thing, i'm well into politics, i know there thought process and i grew up all around politictions. Obama's perspectives are totally different than most of the others, they are mad because they just want things going there way and look where, were at because of it! Do u want the country run by the same corrupt politics. if u know very little about how politics is actually run, go head continue to think obama is not the right person, but when u know from the inside of politics then u would know he is doing the right thing even if people are getting mad, citizens are blindsided from the truth.

Love Lou Dobbs...VERY un-partisan....Tells it for what it is, good or bad.
Da10th: I think Obama will put us on the right track, but, I don't think he will get us entirely out. Going to take about 20years for a full recovery (IMO)
But yeah, I agree, they are all crooked. A politician is a politician. Dem or Rep, they all are self serving.
