Fraya: I didnt like it JT and even kicked my mother once after she delivered a clip around the ear (I've just fed you another reason not to)

I understand why you disapprove so strongly now.

That's a cardinal sin! I took it out on objects
But a simple slap would turn into a whirlwind
Then the proper slaps came!

Night, night thanks for the input

freeman65: But we still need to deal with " reasonable chastisement"....
Its a get out unless we define "reasonable"...
Care to try???

Aye. The word are ambiguous but they say any chastisement that doesn't cause "bodily harm" or "physical impairment". That's not including anything though for the mental state of the child. That's another day...

jt972: I'm not saying certain people don't deserve equal
Rights but sometimes it's more logical to deprive
Some people of rights so a bigger group of
People's rights are not infringed on

So it is okay for the bigger group to deprive the smaller group of equality then, just because they are bigger?

That sounds like you are contradicting yourself, when you are arguing that big adults should not be allowed bully small children, or is it just ok to bully Gay people? grin

"You'll feel the back of my hand young lady. .."

...god where did those expressions come from.

And yet... in most ways, much better times.

I think kids now suffer more because they are given presents instead of time, they don't know the meaning of 'no', and their parents want to be their friend instead of their parent.

I don't remember many of the presents i got as a kid, but i do remember my dad playing with me a lot, my mam always chatting to me and having time for me.
I also remember the huffs I used to get into if I weren't allowed out to a particular disco, or if my dad picked me up from a disco and parked directly outside..oh the embarrassment. But i knew I had a safe way home. And I was often secretly glad they didn't allow me to go to certain places no matter how much I begged. Luckily, my parents acted as parents.

Actually, if you read my posts and take in what I have said, I am very supportive of children's rights.

Oh, and if you read my post you will also see that I brought up your contradictory comments regarding the bigger group bullying the smaller group being acceptable to you. wave
