A little patience might help here. Stay home till the storm is over. The snow is probably wet and slippery. When snow is wet , the cars if they move tend to go everywhere but in the right direction. Everyone will have to relearn how to drive in winter conditions. If you wait till the snowplows have cleared to roads, you will have a much better chance to get to the tire shop.
Meanwhile find your snow shovel and enjoy your hot chocolate.

Winter here, so far, is brutal; we have icicles dripping from the rosebushes and some are actually wearing sweaters!

On the island, I could see either or wearing them.
i can put on a sweater if i need and the icicles that are on can be knocked off and it will warm up when i put it away

Good thing I have a backup heater, oil lamps, extra water to make tea on the barbeque and my battery powered radio. Still it was a bit cool in here. The dog and I just stayed put all day. I'II be glad to go to southern Ontario for Christmas.
