Check the checker comes to mind... however, after my daughter had a drama with an ombudsman, she was told there was no recourse - I like you don't believe that - what about the governing body that oversees that department including the ombudsman....
Yeah but they pay people to ignore the truth, write back was is bunch of lies without right of appeal.

through experience, had too take a different tack.
The saying that I now try to stick to is (softly softly catchee monkey)try to find out on google if others have a complaint against this particular person because if they have lied to you they would lie to others,leaves a nasty taste in your mouth doesent it.

You just have to know how to use them into getting what you want! I have saved thousands off dollars using them when companies think they could just walk over me,
As Hinomunje said, if you don’t like their answer write too the minister or the prime minister! They have too respond because its in their mandate under job description, to serve the voting public interest,

Having suffered an Ombudman's enquiry regarding a road culvert carrying water underneath a road rather than over it and the d..head decided to grade his driveway from the culvert directly to his house and he was not happy, and I had to provide all the "evidence" within 3 days of his dated request (I do so hate these officious legalised beaurocrats with the Law to hide behind) as to why there was a road culvert draining water over a farming property for the 15 years before he bought the land and he decide to build and divert the water, and not according to his building permit, ummm.
On ther positive side, an elctricity company was chasing me for a $300 bill for 2 weeks usage (?????) after I sold my place. Took 3 years to sort this out (they couldn't locate me until they found a mobile number) but stopped harrassing me when I asked for the utility Ombudsman details.
Back to the Rob's point. The Ombudsman's Office will answer specific questions only (same as me in my line of work). Vague, ambiguious, rhetorical questions are not easily answered. And result in vague, ambiguious, rhetorical answers.
If your queries relates to the Family Court or the Collection Suicide Agency (CSA), then you can only expect vague, ambiguious, rhetorical answers. And I speak from many years of dealing with CSA. I was even on the CSA Advisory Board for a number of years and could not get a straight answer.

A Draft Decision made in a wink wink court, without giving notice to the applicant nor either in the presence of either the applicant or cross-applicant. The documents already submitted with the Office of the Commonwealth Ombudsman included an unlawful hand-written proposal claiming Justice xxxx xxxxx had previously rubber stamped a document headed DRAFT ORDER dismissing my business interests in NSW. The same business interests earlier without consideration by a Judge in the prescribed manner had been transferred from NSW to South Australia.
