the agreement to step back from traditional anonymity rules by UBS in Switzerland, is a huge disappointment to many in the finance industry.

Rumour is that they had to in exchange for financial support.

I have no idea what you are talking about, but idea

I have an unrelated question, and you seem to be the right person to ask it:

I’ve found a melody on the net, and would like to have it for my mobile ring signal. Is there any way to fulfill my dream?

Did you save it to the computer yet? (If you can not, you will need to ... that's for private mail laugh)

What phone do you have (name and model-number)

There are two ways, one is to convert it to an accepted format and transfer it from the computer to the phone via cable, bluetooth or infra-red, all depending on your particular phone and computer.

The other is to simply play the tune in the speakers and record it directly with the phone, make sure to cover any fan outlets on the pc while doing this.

Thank you a lot. I won’t claim that I’ve understood the whole instruction, but I’ll try along the general lines

It depends -

"Even before the details are made public, the settlement represents a badly needed boost for UBS, which has struggled for months with massive outflows of funds as the U.S. pursued alleged tax dodgers with Swiss accounts."

Some take it serious enough. I am checking out Vaduz at the moment dunno

Seems to be an agreement between the US and Switzerland, they were talking about opening everything up for the EU countries too. Not just UBS, but all Swiss banks. I will have to have a better look!
Thanks for the tip.conversing

Anonymity in our banks is in our constitution. EU and US governments had tried to scare our government but they need to have the proof that the names they want is linked to a fraud.
They were successful for a few ones because they had the proof.

UBS has a lot to lose in the USA, but the USA have too a lot to lose....

Foreign countries should first ask themselves why people need to put their money in another country's banks.....

True.

What is a problem now is that we have not yet seen on what grounds information have been handed over. The agreement to disclose information linked to events considered a crime in the banking country is quite common, and nothing I oppose, we need some order after all.

Evading tax in US is not a crime in CH, what I know of, and if we see just one single such case among those in question, the migration will be on, not only from UBS but all over town.

The US has been on a roll to crack down on any foreign investments and the reporting for taxes. It started when Bush was in office and they were making the rounds in the caribbean trying to pressure each government there to give up the names of US citizens.

They've been doing it in Europe now as well and it looks as if the EU is rolling over like the wet dog that it is and is about to report on its own citizens to the US. I hope Switzerland will stand its ground. UBS already agreed to pay out on those fraudulent accounts. Should be interesting to see how this continues....
