got a brand new bicychle yesterday, 7-gear Tunturi. took it in my apartment last night and still next night, cause it looked so sad in the garage. feeling great. well its not as good as a girlfriend, but it does not argue with me in anything. i love it!

i have been cycling with an old one quite some 20 years, so those days r gone. by the way, i HAD an old bike before this, it was maid in 1946 by the royal norway wagonmakers, a Swan if i remember it right, this blody dementian.
in holland you are some nice country of cyclist, that is great. i was there in some city i dont remember, in may, and it was sunday evening, but still very much crowd and nice partyfeeling at a marketplace, i liked it a lot.

Did you see them riding while terribly drunk? Just amazing. The best part!cool
My bike is for riding in the city, no need for million gears.

no i didnt, my self i remember one beatiful sunday loong time ago we had wonderful time with friends in some horsegambling bar, and i tried to go home with my bike, fell down 3 times and then did it all the way (12 km) without problems. those days are gone.
yeah, no million gears, i think my 7 is a good solution, but one gear is okay when it is only a question of transport. and yeah, we have a very good bus traffic here too, but you know, i dont like the timetables...

Well, one way to sort out the girls from the women! rolling on the floor laughing

Like women ask "What sort of car you drive?".....grin

Well, I got a realy nice bike, that I don`t realy like very much.
I just found out why .... You gotta look at how high off the ground the pedals are when they in the down position - if you got long legs ... and I got long legs ... and my pedals are too high ... which means I gotta have my saddle higher, which means I gotta lean too heavy on the handlebars, and when I stop just the tips of my toes touch the ground.

Now this other bike I get to use is just SO wonderfully comfortable .... cause the pedals nearly touch the ground so I get to be able to stretch my legs when riding ... which is how it should be!

We got real good bike riding country here .... the whole Unterland is an old ancient glacier field - so its flat like a pancake.... Just downhill a little bit to the Rhine River.... and up a little bit to the Black Forests.

I have an imaginary bicycle: big, solid navy blue one with a wickerwork basket on the front (for sandwiches and lemonade) and a larger wooden box on the back (for the dog who is small and has little old legs so can't keep up with me when I get pedaling). Also it has a shiny red bell for ting tinging people with... and a pump. (Mainly for show.)

I don`t like downhills! After riding motor-bikes all my life, a bicycle is scary when it just FLOWS down the hill!... nothing but a little slice of overheating rubber to slow you down!uh oh

Thanks Conrad. I know what that is - Nah, don`t like back-pedalling brakes. Fortunately, for other road users, I live in a countryside flat as a pancake. Only odd places have steep hills, and I just avoid those ..... or walk down them!
