  • Your Email, Favorites, Blocked List, and Who's Viewed Me list, will be permanently deleted.
  • Your Forum Posts, Blogs, public eCards, Polls, Videos (and all other content in public areas) will remain.
  • Your profile will no longer be visible on the site.
  • You will not be able to receive Messages, Likes, Favorites or Views from other members
  • You will be able to reactive your profile within 60 days of the day you canceled.

If your profile is cancelled:
Simply Login to the site and press the "Reactivate Your Profile" button.

People on the site can hide their profile at anytime. When this happens, you will not be able to see them anywhere on the site.

If they are in your inbox, their photo will say "hidden" on it. And you will no longer be able to write to them.

Searches

In the top nav bar, click on the "People" dropdown. It will expand.

Click on the ( Menu) icon on the top right corner of the page. The menu will expand.

Then click on the dropdown that says "People". It will expand.

Then click on More in the list of links.

You will be taken to the Search Options page, that has an extensive list of searches.

You will find links to the Advanced Search, Quick Search, Username Search, Browse, Site Search, Astrology Search, and much more.

Visit the Search Options page for a complete list of Search Options.

The "Exact" radio button is used for when you know the user's exact username.

The "Similar" radio button is used for when you have an idea of their username, but don't know it exactly.

The "Similar" radio button is also used if you want to find all users with a word in their username (like "tennis" or something like that).

When using the "Similar" radio button, you can also specify the gender that you are looking for.

There are several reasons why a member might disappear from the site:

  • The member has been removed from the site by staff (as a result of complaints received about the member, or the member using the site for purposes other than dating: mass mailing, soliciting, requesting money from members, etc.)
  • The member has hidden their profile
  • The member has cancelled their profile
  • If you are trying to find them via a username search, you may have misspelled their username.

This site has rules to protect members and their experience here. Knowing, accepting and following the rules is required for membership. It is not site staff's responsibility to warn you when you break them.

  • Members who break the rules or whose behavior on the site, blogs, or forums is unacceptable may be removed without warning.
  • Members who attempt to use the site for reasons other than dating (such as soliciting of ANY kind, money or romance scam, building mailing lists, identity theft, multiple or fake profiles, or any suspicious activity) will be removed without notice.
  • Members under legal age will be removed.
  • If the profile of someone you have been communicating with suddenly disappears, they have likely been removed for safety and quality of the site and members. No warning or notice will be sent.
Although it's common to hear a banned member complain about the rules, or that members who reported them got them banned...this is NOT true! When banning is necessary, it was the member's own bad behavior that got them banned. Members are adults and held accountable for their own actions here.

Before you login, the site does not know who you are or what gender you are, so we wouldn't know what to show you. But once you login, you should be shown only men's photos and profiles. However, the banner ads are from Google, and not under our control.

Also, there are 8 boxes across the bottom of some pages. They have a mixture of ads and CS profiles. But they are also from Google and not controlled by us.

Blocking

Answer

The best way to handle unwanted mail, is to Block the member that you do not want to communicate with.

The only way you can block someone, is if they send you an Email or an eCard. Otherwise there is no reason to preemptively block them and fill up your Blocked List.

To Block someone that has sent you an Email or eCard:

When you are viewing a Mail or eCard they sent you, click on the " Block this Member" button in the right sidebar. at the bottom of the page.

The next time they try to write to you, they will get a message saying they have been blocked - so they will know you don’t appreciate what they have previously sent.

If the member has displayed bad manners or bad taste, the Block feature is the best solution. However, you should report anyone who you suspect of scam or illegal activity to: Report Abuse.

When you block someone, they will no longer be able to send you Mails and eCards. If they try to send you a Message or eCard they will get a sign that they have been blocked – so they will know you don’t appreciate what they have previously sent.

The Mail and eCards they previously sent you will still remain, but you can delete them if you want.

They can still view your profile and send you a "Like". But each member can only send ONE Like, so they can only do this once.

Then click on the "Trash ()" icon to the right of the Members you want to UN-BLOCK.

This will delete them from your Blocked List, and they WILL be able to contact you again.

No, you cannot block people from viewing your profile.

You can block people from sending you Email and eCards.

You can also block groups of people from specific locations, ages, etc. from sending you Email and eCards.

It's best to take the Views lightly and ignore those in whom you have no interest.

Each person that views your profile, can only show up in your Who's Viewed Me List ONE TIME.... no matter how many times they view your profile.

Choices you make on this page will determine and limit who can contact you. Members who are filtered out by the settings you choose, will NOT be able to contact you.

Members filter their mail based on criteria that is important to them. It could be Location, Age Range, Marital Status, or Relationship Type that blocks mail from you.

To view a member's contact requirements:

-On their profile page, scroll down and click on the MORE button.
-Then click on CONTACT REQUIREMENTS in the dropdown list.

That will show the reason, that you are blocked from contacting them.

If they are in your area, there will be a "Like" button on their profile. You can click this button, and then they may decide to write back, even if you don't meet their Block Settings.

You can block members by gender, location, marital status, or age range. But once in a while, you may want to contact someone outside your location or age range.

If you do email someone that you have blocked, then they won't be able to contact you back.

So we have designed an "override" where if you contact them first, then they can contact you back.

Sometimes members get likes and respond with an email that says "I'm not interested". This email will trigger the "override" and allow them to email you.

Mail

We send notifications out whenever you get email on the site. If you are not receiving them, then it could be one of the following reasons:

1) Your email address that you have on the site is invalid. Click here to edit your email address »

  • Old mail (over 30 days old) is removed from time to time to save on site resources.
  • The sender may cancel and leave the site.
  • The sender may have been removed from the site by staff. (as a result of complaints received about the member, or the member using the site for purposes other than dating: mass mailing, soliciting, requesting money from other members, etc. When a member gets banned, their mail automatically disappears.)
  • A member's profile and mail may be deleted because they registered an email address that isn't valid and mail notices to them bounce back.

We remove mass mailers, solicitors, spammers and scammers and when we do, their mail is automatically deleted also. This is for your protection. If you receive a notice but see no mail, it means the profile was removed after your notice went out.

Block Settings
Many members block mail based on Location, Age Range or Marital Status preference. Members can set their mail preferences using the Edit Block Settings page. Connecting Singles has no control over member email preferences.

Block Specific Members
Also... Members can block specific members from contacting them by clicking the " Block this Member" button on an incoming Message or eCard.

You can do a Search for members in your own area, where you will not be blocked.

Then type in your Message.

Click the "Send Message" button at the bottom of the page.

Your message will be sent to the member’s Onsite Inbox. And a copy of your message will go to your Outbox.


Or... this if for members you know their username, or they are on your Favorites List or Who's Viewed Me List:

Go to your Mail Inbox, and click on the Compose New Message button at the top right of the page.

Then type in the user's Username exactly. And press the "Go to Next Step" button.

In case you do not know their username, your Favorites List will be loaded at the bottom of the page. (You can click the tab that says "Viewed" to load your "Who's Viewed Me List" instead.)

Click on a user in your Favorites List at the bottom of the page.

Then type in your Message.

Click the "Send Message" button at the bottom of the page.

Your message will be sent to the member’s Onsite Inbox. And a copy of your message will go to your Outbox.

We notify members when they receive onsite mail. If they have provided a valid email address, they will receive those notices; if not, they won't get the notices and it may be longer until they return to the site and see what you have sent. It is their choice to login and check their mail, and it is their choice whether or not to open or respond. We have no control over any of this.

If you are not willing to wait for a response, send mail only to members whose last activity date is recent.

If a member does not open or respond to your mail, they may not have time to answer, they may be receiving too much mail already, they may be corresponding with someone special already, or they may just not be interested in your profile. Find someone else to write to...

It takes a lot of time and patience to find someone special. Don't give up. There is someone out there for you. That person may join tomorrow.

In the meantime, give members a reason to write to you. Help others get to know you. Add positive, upbeat info to your narratives about yourself, describe more about what you are seeking in your match, add some new photos, fill out the extended profile. Also, check out the Forums area of the site. Many members have a lot of fun meeting and talking there while waiting to meet ‘the one’. Add a blog about your thoughts or experiences to let others know more about you and possibly attract someone who feels the same (note that a blog is a journal - not a personal ad).

All features of the site are TOTALLY FREE TO USE. There are no surprise fees or hidden charges for sending or receiving messages, or any other feature.

You can return the Like to a member, by clicking on the "Like them back" button next to their profile in the list. This will let them know that your interest is Mutual.
