I Am Legend

RE: I Am Legend

@chevyII, it probably reminds you of the omega man because it's a remake of that movie.

The Lake House

RE: The Lake House

Ar first this moving is a little confusing going back in time ,back to the presant ,but you soon learn that it is really iingenios script whick Bullock directed. It is most intriguing and you never know what is happening next. Great actors , Great movie.

Gettysburg

RE: Gettysburg

That was thee best movie ever. It was produced by Ted Turner. No one was ever allowed to reinact that war on those sacred grounds. Ever. Ted Tuner was turned down. Then he noticed on the tours ride that you can see telephone poles in the distant and that made it unrealistic. He then went back and offered to pay for all electrical lines to be underground in the city. He offered in exchange to use that hallowed ground then they agreed to let him use it only to him and no other. He was actually in that movie but I never saw him. Ted Tuner is a civl war buff and he made a dream happen. Great movie.

Love Actually

RE: Love Actually

My favourite film in the genre, by far. I don't currently own a copy, (thx ex) but i watch this time and time again. Laughing and crying my way through it. Best watched snuggled down with a significant other. And when Colin Firth gets his girl with what can only be called a dire monologue (it's in terrible, hilarious faltering Portuguese),I defy you not to get misty eyed!

Dances with Wolves

RE: Dances with Wolves

This is such a great movie. I never cared for Costner 'till I saw this movie. I actually cry when Costner is leaving and the one indian on top of the mountain is on his horse and shouting , don't go, I am you friend ect.. Then start the waterworks, because you know that eventually that tribe would actually be attacked and killed and what we did to the American Indians. So sad, my son would always laugh at me and "it's only a movie Mom"

Kids {they don't undertand.} He eventually bought me that movie and said you can cry your eyes out at anytime now" The origional movie was 3 hours long and I was talked into seeing it. Those three hours went by unnoticed. One of the greats, makes you start thinking how unfair that the calvery had a lot of determination to eradicate the indians of our country. Grat performers great story, just great.

the green mile

RE: the green mile

OMG. This movie was unbelievble. I think it was one of Tom Hanks Best performances. His emotions were seriously clear as his role. That movie he actually lived it. The other guards, too were great. I admit it made me cried, for all innocent people that are in prisons and their victims. I thought the Black guy says at the end: "they all what they hate". Any one, elighten me on that statement. I do not know what he was actully saying. One of the greatest movies, but not enough recognition.

Back then they were serious with death row. Now it can take forvevr to execute them. A large man attacked and mutilated and raped a 12 year old. That was 1985. He is still in prison , but he is on death row.
That movie makes you think how death row convicts should not be on death row longer than what is shown in that movie.
So much shown sympathy ,I can only watch it about twice a year.
One of thee greats.

The Pursuit of Happyness

RE: The Pursuit of Happyness

Great movie and such a well performance with Will Smith and his true son. Unbelievable emotioms showed with each one. Smith said it was a hard movie to make as he realized so many people actually lived that way, as the person he was posing did. In the sleeping in the bathroom scene his son falls asleep and Smith said he actually started crying as the realness of being poor came back to him and the way he lived that life as a kid in the bronx, dirt poor. Will Smith was at his best. His son was at his very beginning of a future of acting at the age of 4. Great Movie.

RE: Avatar

Its an amazing movie. its got several different messages and themes. Action, romance, sci-fi. its got something for everyone.
I loved how Jake talked to Eywa through the tree of souls (is that the name or am I getting them confused) and said how the people of Earth had killed their mother and were going to do the same on pandora.
Its a lovely movie!
