A GLIMMER

Loneliness was my companion
Agreeable pals we were yesterday
Recently someone walked in my life
Rescued! That was my first impression
Yet he only lasted a day
Moments actually: leaving wound that needed no knife
Only he never understand what he took
Once was enough. My world he shook.
Sealing a further bond with my Lonely friend
Even I don't understand what really happened.

Interesting rhyme scheme. Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all... wine

Hi, kle76am,
Sometimes, A GLIMMER is all we get to help us understand what we have given and what, if anything, we have gained. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for those word Freeatlast and GNJ I have come to the conclusion that a glimmer either makes one smarter or bitter. I have choosen the former.

Sometimes a glimmer brings a lot of hope to the hopeless. Half a loaf is better than no bread.

A glimmer is a gift. So many never seem to even see or recognize it. He sounds like one heck of a fellow and how they can rock our souls. Great write! wine bouquet

Hi kle....I spent 6 years alone and was reasonable content...
then after three weeks with a special man, I was left depressed like never before....now I feel I am in company, and I have to prove I am not...though is it him my friend or Niah my Great Dane I miss....both left me at the same time...
that's my Glimmer and I'd rather to have and lost...
thanks for the thought provoking idea....Niah's mumconfused

Hey Niah sometimes these glimmers open places in our heart we thought long closed. But it is best to have had them I guess.....hug
