Rancher In Las Cruces (Limerick)

A ranch-farmer down in Las Cruces
Instead of fat cattle, raised gooses
His cowboys all quit
'Cause they just couldn't git
The gooses to stay in their nooses.

Well, believe it or not, a lot of cowboys were of Irish and Scots descent, so it bears to reason that limericks just come naturally.

Is Las Cruces a cowboy town in Texas ROS? What a great one to rhyme with. This goes to the top of my list (though I do have a soft spot for Conchita). Well done.

MacDuff,

Las Cruces is a town in New Mexico just 45 minutes away from my childhood hometown of El Paso, Texas. In Old Mesilla, Billy The Kid was held as a prisoner while for a spell. He ended up shooting a deputy and a sheriff to make his escape. You can see this famous escape in Young Guns II. Old Mesilla is very historic and I love it there. :)It's also home of New Mexico State University. Las Cruces is Spanish for "The City of Three Crosses". :)
