Paper heart
A paper heart is all that I can send
For your dear heart never do me see
We pass by on our daily route
And my love, you are so blind to me
I have loved you for so long
Yet cannot sign my name
If you knew of my desire
My face I’d hide in shame
Yet I will take this yearly chance
To tell you of my passion
Though you will not know who sends it
This paper heart I fashion
If one day you could aspire
To look upon my face
You will see the love that lies
Within this aching space
The space that is my yearning heart
The flesh and blood that loves you so
But til then it's a paper heart
My love to you can show

nice write
I guess we are both a lot more up front now and a good thing too.
This poem was a product of half a bottle of good red, hence the melancholy stance.
A glass or two of red? What an agreeable way to wind down at the end of a trying day...
