Though you persecute me and speak all manner of evil against me Yet will I love you and forgive you.. For you may have a change of heart because I have not retaliated against you.. You might see the necessity for being tolerant.. Though you've held a certain opinion that ran counter to all about you..it may be that at the 11th hour you will wish to change your mind.. And you will be glad that I tolerated your point of view for so long.. It may come to pass that you will stumble in life giving me an opportunity to take advantage of your weakness.. But because I hold a sacred trust..I instead lift you up.. It may be that my power and might is so much greater than yours that there is no longer reason that I should not crush you.. But because you are sacred in the eyes of a higher power..I honor that power.. It may be that all your ideas infuriate me that I'm compelled to forsake your aquaintance.. But I hold on to your friendship for I may in time see the truth in your ideas.. It may be that you have no words to describe your need to be free, nor do you understand the clever arguments used against you to keep you in slavery.. But I fought to free you because your freedom is sacred.. And because one day..you may set me free.. It may be that your religion turns out to reveal the true God.. And though I disagree with all you believe..I must hold out..for I may have been wrong.. What must be sacred among men is a law of God and not of man.. for man knows nothing of love until it is shown him.. For when we have made every mistake against one another..what is it that keeps us from total destrution of each other.. We dimly realize the sacred nature of our self worth..and hopefully realize the sacred in all.. Sacred me..sacred you..

Hi Cafetwo
Both in this and several other of your poems you reveal a wonderful philosophy of life which I personally find uplifting.
From your writings, I reckon that you are truly one of natures real gentlemen.
Here in Cumbria, I have woken up to unseasonably cold and wet weather... reading your poem has just made me count my blessings and be thankful I live so close to so much beauty, beauty which no amount of cold and rain can ever diminish.
Yes, let us all counternance the other persons point of view, none of us has a monopoly on wisdom or knowledge.
Great write...
Bill
