It was an innocent flirtation
That started the whole affair
Just one note of encouragement
Sent our emotions spiraling without a care

One note lead to hundreds
Those to texts and calls
We would talk for hours
About everything or nothing at all

We said from the beginning
That friends is all we could ever be
The distance was just to great
For a relationship to become a reality

We both wanted someone close by
To touch and lay beside each night
A lover to walk hand in hand with
A partner to make life right

After weeks of talking
and what we have learned
We were playing with fire
And we are gonna get burned

We mean a lot to one another
Our feelings are a jumbled mess
Its like a no win situation
That left me feeling hopeless

On one hand, we should let it go
