I would imagine he meant he was lonely and scared...did not want to start things he was not prepared to finish..becoming involved with somebody is a serious decision that can have life long repercussions...but I always see myself no matter whose the words....so take it with a grain of salt..elo..

Dear country lady...
Take it from one who has been round the block a few times - although this guy was mixing his metaphors, what he basically was saying is this:
"I fancy the pants off you, do you by any chance fancy me?"
Hell country lady - if you like the guy invite him round to your place for dinner, before somebody else snaps him up...
Bill my dear friend.. I told him I was here.. that was tuesday night and nothing since then.. and it took him from sat to tues to get that much out of him.. I texted him 3 times yesterday... Crap I dont want to scare him off.. and I have told him straight out.. I cant be more precise than that.. the ball is now in his court... AGAIN...I will never beg a man for love
Country Lady, I am with you in this, but I think you have mailed him quite enough, see what follows but don't rush. If it is meant to be you will see, if not, don't ever be disheartened, not in the least. More philosophical approach will be better, such as 'let it be' if no sequence follows. I like your openness, when you seem to be asking advice of good friends - no matter what's the outcome friends are always here for you. Good luck to you!

Dearest country lady
Ah! It should be him I am advising in that case - sounds like he certainly isn't Mr Decisive...
Still rooting for you CL, it's his loss if he can't see what a star you are...
My dear Country Lady, great to make friends if you're interested but make it something special means give him more attention when you go out. Yes, you could invite him for a drink or dinner (if you really like him). It can be the beginning of something beautiful. Good luck! Thanks for sharing! A pleasure to read!
Sounds like it's time for a girls night out!! ...we don't even have to shave.

Hi Countrylady i've seen some brilliant and practical commentary, nothing left to say but the ball is in his court, you have done your part, why should you look like the hunter when the prey seems the prey is uninterested in taking the bait, you have set the stage for a catch and i hope you do,just wait and see how it turns out,if it does work, then move on to another, take care and best wishes to you
