After a while you learn the stark reality that A partnership doesn’t always mean sanctuary Begin to accept and understand through your suffering With your head up high and your eyes ahead With the grace of a woman, not the angst of a child Accept that you really can and will endure Plant your own field and adorn your own soul Don’t wait in vein for a perennial bloom Hope and forbearance is a road to journey today Because yesterdays heartbroken ground is too rocky to stride And future’s path is filled with apprehensive doubt Truth is that no one is completely on your side And blind trust leaves bitter disappointment Austere reality, nothing is forever, so savour special moments There is nothing we can’t endure, or heal our broken spirit Happiness is a state of mind, which is mostly of our own volition One day is another day nearer to our demise, wasted, can never be relived Never compromise, comprehend you really do have worth Life’s cruel blows teaches us a subtle difference Between your hand being held and the grip of possession And learning life has cruel abandonment and losses unfathomable Questions that have no answers or reason that could possibly make logic And equally, that beauty and happiness knows no bounds, momentarily Kisses aren’t a price to pay for complacency and acceptance Lethargy is not a state of mind even to contemplate Understanding that life has its ups as well as downs Move on, leave the world behind that lives fancifully only in dreams Bittersweet memories will live deep inside and will always perpetuate Turn another page in your book of life and make a new happier chapter And once again breathe in the wonderfulness of a serene, tranquil heart
