Forget his name, forget his face. Forget his kiss and warm embrace. Forget the life that you once knew;remember now theres someone new. Forget the life that you once shared; Forget the fact that he once cared. Forget the times you were together;Remember now, he's gone forever. Forget him when they played our song; Forget you cried the whole night long. Forget how close you two once were;remember now he's close to her. Forget you memorized his walk;Forget the way we used to talk. Forget the times when you were mad; remember now he's glad, not sad Forget the times he used to phone;Forget the times you were alone. Forget the time he was your whole world;remember now there's another girl. Forget him in his teasing ways;Forget you saw him everyday. Forget the things you used to do; remember now, she loves him too. Forget the thrill when he walked by;Forget the times he made you cry Forget the times you spoke his nam;Remember now,he's not the same. Forget he used to hold your hand;forget the sweet things,if you can. Forget he said he'dd leave you never; Remember now,he's gone forever.

As human beings the best way to get someone to remember anything is to tell them to forget it. Forgeting to pick up milk we all can do, forgeting what is in your heart is another matter.
Well said Jerseygirl

Brilliant poem. It resonates and rings true. It transported me and made me forget what I was doing, which is what art should do. Well done.

A brilliant poem, im sure most people can relate to, it also reminded me on my first love when i was also your age, but may i also add that now with all the years that have past it is still nice to remember because i think its impossible to forget sommething so sweet. Thank you it was nice to read.

The best poem of the site, in my opinion, and one of your greatest ones in music, sentiment, love, hope and purity madam.

First loves never leave you, my first love produced the best writing that I ever did. 'If Only' in my poems is sort of like this one but more abstract.

Dear Jersey Girl, compliments aside, I dare say I'm not unfamiliar with English poetry since Beowulf and American Poetry since Anne Bradstreet, but no love poem have I seen so impressive as this one! I've read it thousands of times, and in tears, and still never have my fill of it. This alone suffices to immortalize you in the realms of gold. You really deserve to be loved by all purified souls of the world, men and women, the young and the old.
