This Winter Season

Winter's near past with blizzard and storm...
...carved in the ground, a nook to keep warm.

Preserving in snow, yet no leaves I've seen.....
...Not one, since white turned brown to green.

Just as flurries bring stillness in air...
...a frightful thought, that I've none left to fear.

I wonder if now, I'd see your breath...
...and would it have brought an essence of death?

Each flake on my skin, unsure that it's there...
...a brief moment of peace, then soon turns clear.

I've lost all desire for Winter's pass over...
...I won't even count, as seconds melt on my shoulder.

rather chilling good imagery though

Thank you.

I'm pleased to know my winter poem is chilling :)
...perhaps I could revise it to make it downright frigid
