The Change

There he stood across the room
in a corner on his own

Amongst all others at an event
he did not need to pretend

A Virgin Adonis in his own right
So youthful and like the northern light'

He walked across the room with ease
Like a midnight summers breeze

Suddenly he stopped right in front of me
Whispering into my ear - just forget thee

He swept me of my feet all night long
and let me forget the kings' wrong

At dawn the Prince replaced the impersonating King
completing me with a new meaning.

Le roi est mort, vive le roi!
The king is dead, Long live the King!

Hi Pipin

This is top heavy with allegories: I guess once our old car is clapped out we buy a new one, I suppose people are no less expendable...

Thank you all for your brilliant input which is truly appreciated.

I wrote this merely about someone I found out to be an impersonater and He had to be replaced by a true being in the end.

Personally, I would never replace any human being only because they are gone beyond their looks, etc as the heart and feelings never change within them. bouquet
