If love had a lever We could turn it on/off Never have to feel a thing Not its highs, lows, pain or loss If love was under our total control Imagine how we each could proceed When some like to give, some like to take But no two give and take to the same degree If love is merely a vehicle to get us where we want Do we keep it running smoothly to avoid an interruption Can we know when we’re meeting its needs or not Making sure its channels are free from corruption If love has many powers to transform our lives Is it best to just let it go with its own flow Slyly easing our grip even letting it slip Encouraging all its options to grow If love gives us a need for more Will we ever keep it satisfied Or is its ending inevitable All its ties only implied If love abides its own Should it devise a test Pushing us to our limit Eying what it likes best If love is only a feeling Reacting to its stimulus How can we depend on it When its flux is continuous
If love had only one lever We could turn it on and off

if love was not so unpredictable it would not be so thrilling, but the love that is secure is a real treasure

Hi ladyj, thank you for reading my ramblings... thrilling and unpredictable love... aaah, back in the day... the stability we treasure within the security of love... now that's definitely worth the efforts we make to keep it... as always, I very much enjoy your thoughtful expressions... hug:
