A boy liked this girl, but didn’t know what to say
But he knew in his heart she'll be his some day,
He was friend’s with her and they became real close,
But kept it a secret what his heart wanted most,
Watched her laugh and watched her cry,
Kept on thinking that I'm gonna be her guy,
He told her best friend what was on his mind,
She said OMG! Its seems your heart is in a bind,
But she has a boyfriend as you can see,
You might have a chance cause shes not too happy,
That boy was glad he didnt know what to do,
He needed to know if what her friend said was true,
He went to find her to ask her what was what,
Stood there shaking with a knot in his gut
He stood there for a moment it was all a blur,
and he just started to say these words to her,
I wanted to say that you are my best friend,
and I know you know this, but I hope it wont end,
for what I need to ask might scare you away,
I would like a chance to be your boyfriend someday,
I don't want an answer, I know what you feel,

so a year went by it might seem so long,
but what he felt remained real strong
he knew he loved her but did what boys do best,
he waited for the answer, and he just dated the rest
and one day she came to him with a look in her eye,
stood there staring looking like she wanted to die,
She opened her mouth she tried to speak,
It looked like her nerves were growing very weak,
He said what’s the matter, she smiled said "Guess!"
I don't know, as she whispered, The answer is "Yes!"
A year went by, ummm? What was the question?

So thirty years later as their lives moved on,
