Sunday afternoon

Embedded image from another site

Cold overcast Sunday afternoon
no place else I'd rather be
preparing candlelight dinner
longing for loves immortality...

She calls and is traveling to me
the city sighs on this Sunday
as afternoon transforms to evening
O holy Sunday I await her lovely sashay...

When I'm sad she brings the thunder
her tears the refreshing rain
her laughter the soothing southern wind
blowing away the deepest of pain...

This most serene Sunday afternoon
I'm not breaking aching or faking anymore
or drowning frowning loveless galore
my southern lady just walked through my door...
