CS Poetry Corner

Once upon a time some poets would gather
And write poems of their choice
It was beautiful and lovely
It allowed each poet to have a voice

Comments made on those poems
Were lovely to read and digest
The comments inspired the poets
And gave them a feeling of being blessed

To all those poets I wish to say
It was great to have your work read
May your lives be blessed evermore
Thank you for what we have shared

And now, all you dearest poets
You can look back at those days
They were all so wonderful and happy
Oh yes, those were the days

About this poem:

I posted my first piece here on CS Poetry Corner in June 2013. There was a great camaraderie among the poets then and the subsequent years. It was a wonderful feeling that inspired other poets and myself in our writing.

I have written this piece in honour of those days.
It was inspired and motivated by the song:

Maybe the poets are in need of a resurrection or spark of inspiration before they just stop writing altogether. For some who wrote volumes of poetry here imagine if they were all published. Instead of their heart and soul stuck on the CS server they could be in bookstores?

Socrates, I also remember those days spanning back over a decade now. I remember how constructive and helpful some of the comments (and also critiques!!) were shared by other members and I learned in the process how to become a better poet. I share your love for this page and its poets over the years. Nice tribute!!
