The First Date
Author: Unknown
she couldn't wait to meet him
thirty more minutes to go.
the snow is coming down now
the traffic doesn't flow.
she thinks, how will I greet him?
a handshake, a hug or a kiss?
she likes his morals and values
and her sense of humor is just like his.
she gets to the place of the meeting
no, his car is not there.
He also drove over an hour
just to meet up with her.
This must be him now
parking right next to her,
he rolls down the window,
her too.
they talk back and forth for a bit
then he gets out of the car.
she'll gets out as well, a little timid
they walk to the coffee bar.
once they started talking
they discovered,
there is no lack of things to say,
they are comfortable with each other.
a romantic Italian restaurant,
is their choice to have a bite.
no other guests around,
everything feels just right.
they drive back to her car together,
she doesn't want him to leave,
they really seem to hit it off
its almost too good to believe.
the time has come to say goodbye,
he asks: could I get a hug?
she complies, still somewhat shy
he gives her a little kiss.
they both drive off in different directions,
she smiles as she thinks of him,
she hopes he too felt the connection
and wants to see her again.

We had a wonderful first date and the Goodbyeing lasted for hours
No romance, but "plenty of heat"
A lady just doesn't on the first date, you know
EarthAngel
a hug and grabs a kiss. The Cad!
I luv this poem. What a nice story. I'm excited for you. Great work. Take care.
