My Lifeguard

Oh tide let me in
I can't tread these waves anymore
And honey your arms can save me
Bring me closer to the shore

Those storms that they send us
black rolling clouds of grief
we just wait for rainbows
hidden underneath our reef

Oh what if I've mistaken
what if you can't swim
wading only to your waist line
what if they all win

Singing songs about our light house
my sea sick lullaby
now shine that light to guide me
it's always been ok to cry

Sandy beach you stand on
shifting sand between your toes
we have things that binds
things nobody really knows

Sail on sweet perfection
because this ship has grown
we'll float on past the storms
where birds have never flown
