Sameness
Life, tell me there's more to it than this, surely it can't be that this is all there is.
I see a devoid and desolate wasteland, perhaps I'm mistaken but is this why
God made man? To spend all his days bewitched and bewildered, to frisk
and wallow in the ditch of familiar? Is life a barren Dead Sea of hopelessness ?
Indeed, it seems hopeless for I am drowning in this whole abyss, of monotony
Where newness and change has forgotten me, and there seems no stopping we,
go round and round and round again, yesterday, today, tomorrow the same!

Joseph,
Thankfully my life is not mundane,
Every new day is a good one !
Good poem.........Mick.
To spend all his days bewitched and bewildered, to frisk and wallow in the ditch of familiar? Although I do like variety and adventure, there is something comforting in the familiar. That is, of course, when that familiar is not a barren Dead Sea of hopelessness. Those of us who have much for which to be thankful do not always appreciate the Sameness that others face. Thanks for sharing. Hopefully, with what we've each been presented, we can find strength, inspiration, and ways to be born anew and feed our souls.
