Do I Dare

Do I dare at my age talk of love
Should I dare at my age think of romance
Do I have just a tiny idea
I could even have half of a chance

Do I dare at my age look into her loving eyes
Should I dare at my age let her see
That I have no disguise

Life is not a fairy tale, not a movie show or a book
Perhaps I shouldn't dare I fear we both know
Really all she has to do is just take one look

So do I dare at my age talk of love
Should I dare at my age think of romance
Do I have just a tiny idea
I could even have half of a chance

Her loving eyes
I have no disguise
Do I dare

Dare to do anything that gives you pleasure, till the last breath leaves your body, life is short. wave purple heart

Ditto with Odette...I appreciate the honesty in this poem. But I say Dare and live or do nothing and die. We have only just one shot in life....make it count...claim your share of the bounties of being alive! angel wine handshake

Hi Eyelook,

"Do I dare to eat a peach,
Roll my trousers and walk upon the beach,
Do I dare disturb the Universe?"

Of course you should dare. Loved your poem. cheers
