How does one praise the glories of life? What gifts could I bring to the alter of understanding? Though my years are many am I still not childlike in my quest for wisdom? O yes, I remember my days well upon this earth As a child I played in a sandbox as have multitudes and never gave a thought to the majesty of the heavens But my eyes were clear and blue and my mothers milk was the ocean of life I knew nothing of bullets and of fire and war I only knew myself and the unspoken truth of divine knowledge came in a warm blanket wrapped around my tender frame But the days would come when the sting of some hellish intruder would produce a thorn in my heart My toys I must set aside for a new knowledge of bruises that would not heal Thorns whose blood born in a river of hate must give me pause to think Infant eyes that saw only cotton candy and christmas trees were now reading the words of the old philosophers But I wanna go home to the warm Wanna fall into heavens sleep For I have not found all that the mind had promised I have observed the mathematicians with their slide rules and pencils and yet their equations though ever so precise had left their hearts cold and behold they had lost their home in the midst of some souless spirit of life Then knowledge was just another one of my broken toys and did I not fair just as well when in my pristine ignorance I swung starry eyed on my swing sucking my thumb? I wanna go home where life is life and I don't have to think anymore I wanna know without knowing That is the world of true love Away with knowledge..
I read with tears, couldn't hold them, haven't cried for long, since times immemorial. But this is exactly the place where I wish to be ... just to be there, no knowledge, nothing, just to see them all and enjoy their love and care, and be loved and cared for. At least I knew what it was and have knowledge of how it used to be in good old days! I would call this poem a masterpiece of poignant nostalgia. Thank you very much for bringing back early days!

I started writing one thing not knowing where it was going to end up but somehow the child theme just kept taking on a life of it's own. Halfway through I began smiling because I knew you were going to connect with this on some level. It seems my hunch was correct. Thank you sweet for your perspective and heartfelt reply. Cafe

All things will be revealed when faith becomes knowledge. Excellent write cafe. Also, I recently found out candyfloss is the same thing as cotton candy. Just a different term for it used in Europe.
