Love

Love
Is like a dove
You must set her free
But not flee

Men have girlfriends
Women have boyfriends
They both have friends
There is no end

We can be approved
And we can be rejected
But we try our best
In every test

Love can be good
It can be bad
But if you do it like it should
Then you don’t have to be sad

You don’t have to be mad
When you can’t get your way
You might get sad
But don’t eat clay

Just pray
And you can stay
For love is good
As it should

We love each other
And our mother
We also love our father
And sister and brother

Love can be bad
But don’t be sad
It can work out
So you don’t have to shout

Hi, John,

Your opening stanza captures for me the image of allowing something to spread its wings while, at the same time, not deserting it. Love does require this selfless act. Thank you for sharing. Keep writing!
