War Torn

Embedded image from another site

Gunfire awakens
the sleeping children
in smoke filled shadows
of a war torn room...

Eyes filled with tears
looking toward heaven
praying just to see
the sun rise one more day...

With trembling hands
reaching for the father
who once held them
sheltered them from harm...

Pleading please Christ Lord
bring peace our way
help me survive
for just another day...

Chills ran through me, not on this poem which was absolutely deep with emotion, but on your description! A child asking "what was war" I am so chilled right now! Awesome Spartacus K! Thank you for this deep thought to contemplate today!

Hi Ken, how I wish there could be a time when a child could ask, "What Was War." That Is a dream that many of us dream. A world where we can all live together as one. A sorrowful write Ken, well written as always. What do the children know of war? nothing. The horror Is there before a child's eyes. So sad brother, It can bring tears to the eyes. Why do the children have to suffer? Why does anyone have to suffer?
Have a good day. Catch you later. Your Friend always....MIKE.

Very powerful and timely. We can't walk blindfolded, stop our ears, behave as if this is no concern of ours. Evil may be laying deadly schemes at our doorstep - there's no surety, none, we all may fall at the mercy of some deranged people. Better voice our concern, like you did so eloquently, or in any other way! Well done, thank you!bouquet
