It’s a day like any other
Kids leave waving to mother
Husband gives a kiss and hug
Yes, still such a handsome mug
Walking back to the kitchen
Knees stiff and still aching
Pour another cup of coffee
Listening to silence it’s awful
Light up another darn smoke
Like common ordinary folk
Browse the paper for sales
Need snacks for lunch pails
Grass needs mowing
Gutters full, leaves blowing
Neighbor’s dog runs in the street
Postman coming for it to greet
Laundry to do and beds to make
Stretching, yawning trying to awake
Radio playing a favorite tune
Husband home for lunch at noon
Time to dress and fuss with hair
Prayers said for a good day to share
Dinner needs some careful planning
Delicious, nutritious and appealing
Cleaning and organizing to do
Depended upon to come through
Each and every day for family
No time for unhappiness or apathy
Castle Queen moves through the day
And every once in awhile
Thoughts creep in of running away
Stopping and sighing with a smile
Of course escaping would never do
This beautiful family depends on you

Abrazo,
Ken
I too reminisce about what kept me busy all those years.
It's time to reach into to the child within, and begin a new chapter.
