Twenty four hours a day Men see her pass in their direction Loaded down with packages and wisdom anyway That invites continuous respect instead of correction.
Looking out into space Her eyes are not steady for a reason Perhaps her memories will not allow a trace For sounds of awareness to create a new season.
Coming closer together like space ships passing in the night Impulse is the teacher once again Conditions are divided once again in the areas of dark and light As shyness overtakes the courage trend.
Inches become feet and feet become yards As the twosome moves away never to become one Through a lucky draw of social playing cards As individual plans for the day remain important under the sun.

About this poem:
Both men and women in the course of everyday living as strangers may pass people on the street who may enhance their individual lives in a special way. Caught up in the daily tasks at hand people not thinking at all about social contact move on separated forever from the unique opportunity that was never consumated.
