Throughout my life I've stumbled, Blinded by the dark Torn to shreds by monsters Devouring my heart
Ripping chunks from my soul Clawing deep into my mind Alone, I stood, trying to stand While my past stalked from behind
Then I saw my silhouette Against the sunset sky Light filled me up with hope my once lost strength I did find
It was beating in your heart It was shining in your eyes The light I've begged and pleaded for Was within you all this time

About this poem:
The light we all seek is hard to find when we bury it, so deep, within our own darkness, that we become blinded to its existence, turning outwards we seek to find it in another person. The light we see in others belongs to only them, theirs alone to find.
