“In fall,
Cold wind
Blows fast,
Then slow –
I call
A leaf;
- The trees
Look thinned,
And crawl; –

*** Root ***

Pale moon
- Thus glide
Through stones
With musk; –
My heart,
A leaf;
So soon,
To ask
- Of these; –

*** Root ***

But while
Owls came
To watch
Such bride
Of night
I miss,
- This leaf
Hath slept
In wept – ”
