Real contentment can only come from within ourselves.
A partner can’t provide that for us,
and to expect it will only lead to disappointment
Yet we fall in love
sharing our life with our better half
having children and paying a mortgage
Celebrating yearly anniversary and birthdays
It is all good
My understanding of attachment is
that it’s not about what we have or don’t have,
but what our expectations of them are.
Do we expect emotional support from our spouse?
Is it that we want to be paired together for life?
Does love suggest we agree on everything one hundred percent
Or is it being flexible and compromising at times?
Do we ride it out?
Or Do we enjoy the ride?
