My very first woman in life

My very first woman in life –
I didn’t view her all at once,
I didn't see how petite she was
Until I got somewhat grown up.
She used to take me to museums,
To listen to Colonne orchestra,
Where little fellow man of hers
Pretended he was having fun.

Oh she sang, my mother,
Often sang the songs,
Songs of yesterday,
Sang the songs of past.

My very first woman in life -
One day she took me to the school.
A shiny schoolbag in my grasp,
I had a scarf wrapped all around.
Have met some good and nasty men,
Learned to dot i’s, been bruised in face.
He was sometimes a lonely one -
The second man of the mama.

Oh she sang, my mother,
Often sang the songs,
Songs of yesterday,
Sang the songs of past.

My very first woman in life -
I left her once to be a man.
It’s always morning in the fall -
A time when children leave their nest.
It’s always in a rainy morning,
It’s often for another woman …

Oh she sang, my mother,
Often sang the songs,
Songs of yesterday,
Sang the songs of past.

Emotions

The world seems so full, when we're happy
Full of life and abundance of good things!
We see rainbows that never were, visible...
We see the sea so bright and blue kissing the shores
We see the birds and hear them singing throughout!
We see life waiting just to be lived till we're old and grey!

We see all the world in darkness, when we're sad
So blurry and not showing signs of ever clearing!
Bleakness dwells within four walls and outside too...
Remorse follows us throughout the day
Drawing us into recklessness and withdrawing
Emotions that cannot be mended for ever till we lie silent!

Birthday Wish

If I could find a way to poof you all here
It would be for the party of the year
See it is the day of my very own birth
On the 25th November some thirty odd years before
That's when I came to this earth
Sometimes I wished I was a mermaid
Sometimes even a bird
At times I wished to be a fairy
But still, I'm happy to be me.
There are things I've seen
And things I'd done
Places I wish I'd never been
But even so
One thing I know
I am still a queen
Might have tilted my crown
Walked on my hands
And
Stood upside down
Laughed at the world
And cried too
When for no reason I feel blue.
But this year has sure been a test
Yet I know I am still on a quest
To make my mark and carve my niche
On society
Is my only wish.

Winter's Knocking

Winter‘s Knocking!

Tis a fact, winter's knocking on our door!

Soon all the rustic golden fallen leaves
will be replaced by the white crispy
sparkling fairy crystals that winter's
scenes are painted with!

Dancing, swirling flakes, the nymphs of the Ice Queen
entourage will soon appear.

Silvery feathers artistically floating in the air,
dusting particles of their un-tread whiteness
of virgin fluffy snow upon the ground.

Awaiting nature's bird & animal kingdom’s footprints to paint
their presence in "Winter's Fantasy Garden".

Oh! How I wish I could once again tramp it's snow drifts
and tread upon it's beauty!

Oh! To walk among it's wondrous icy kingdom again,
but alas creeping age has introduced me to
the handi-cap cane & walker!

Now I gaze upon it's beauty thru the picture window
of life gone bye!

Time Trap

Time trap
Boom boom soon soon
How tricky ticky time can be

Time trap
Boom boom soon soon
It's all about the memories

Time trap
Boom boom soon soon
It's the month of twenty oh history

Time trap
Boom boom soon soon
How tricky ticky time can be

Time trap
Boom boom soon soon
Dreams sail no more upon the sea

Where are you

where are you?
are you on the clouds
or on the back of a bird
or on the back of a fish?

where are you?
are you on the top of Ural mounatains
or in the greens of the Sunderban
or on the bank of the Mahanadi?

where are you?
are you in your hospital
or playing with some granny
or buying cakes in the big bazaar?

where are you?
never mind, be happy.
smile always just like
the rose attached here for you.

The Parched Land of Love

In the dark night of my loneliness
You appeared as a ray of happiness;
At once came the black clouds
And dimmed that bright ray.
What happened to you
I could not know,
Though have been waiting for long
To read your warm mail.

Surely, you not changed your mind;
Surely, you not fall into other’s trap;
Surely, you were not playing with me;
Surely, I was not playing with you.

Why then this silence,
The silence of a bewailing heart,
The heart that falls apart
Without being glued with your smiles,
The smiles enchanting and quenching
The parched land of love?

Come on now, cast your spell
The spell of your Helen’ beauty,
Shower your vernal blessings;
Let grow the vegetation of empathy
And blossom with the flowers of feelings
On this parched land of love.

My Heart Yearns

There is none
with whom
I should talk at night.
My heart yearns
to talk to you;
but you are so distant!!!

I listen to the lament
of my lonely heart
and I communicate
with my desperate soul.

I imagine your smiling face,
and try to forget
the pangs of loneliness.

I don't know,
if we can meet ever.
We are so apart,
and you are so distant!!!

Our Anthem

As we descend into humanity
from which dreams
never escape
but, where
religion is born (so they say)
and wonder in a voice
that has become
our anthem;
If tomorrow fails
to come,
what does it all mean, poet?
What will become of the gut-wrenching words
we tear from our souls?

Do we go door to door
begging for answers
and come away with nothing,
but a fistful of orders
for vacuums we don't sell?

Determined to salvage
some good from it all.
Will we toss our poems
into burn barrels
on frigid street corners
where frozen fingers line up
like icicles from eaves, poet?

Will unshaven faces
stare at us and whisper
"Thank you"
as we watch metaphors smolder
and dance toward a starless sky
and all we have left are unfilled
vacuum cleaner orders?
