Ccincy: To be absolutely honest no I don't.I haven't voted for a long time.
Bedore anyone goes off on me just save your fingers posting to me. LOL It's my own fault if I don't vote.Well I'm following in George Carlins footsteps. If I don't vote then I won't be blamed for what any political figure does. LOL
Last year we -in a civic group- adhere to a political movement for canceling our vote so elections could be called off. We did not succeed but we got a pretty good number of people over the country that went to the urns to vote but cancelled their votes.

amahlala: I used to classify myself as a Republican and then over the years just started to say I was independent if anyone asked.
I find it hard to understand politicians and probably never will, as I can't see justifying their annual salaries and perks, with their political platforms.
The economy is tanked, education becomes a joke for most individuals because the resources for helping always get taken away. Those that try to help themselves find that they face brick walls and poverty is heavily on the rise....
Thanks Amahlala! Mexican politicians get themselves obscene salaries not to say their benefits as expenses for traveling, etc….as in most places in the world.
Politicians should get an elementary Teacher’s salary and get the health care that they can afford as well as the housing and………..then we will see how many politicians are left.
Education and trainning has been neglected but we are paying the price for it.

JAN_is: "If a man is not a Socialist by the time he is 20 he has no heart. If a man is not a Conservative by the time he is 40 he has no head!
A quote oft attributed to Winston Churchill, but I don´t think he actually said it.
Age does of course bring about changes in personal political ideology, as do experiences in life, but I find that my left wing tendencies remain intact.
This place is a minefield now, I´m totally lost after only 3 months absence!
I have to choose "other". It's not that I don't care about politics, but I have zero faith in the political system, I think it's lost any connection to true democratic and constitutional principals. It's a total scam, designed to keep people obedient to the powers that control them. Making them think that they have a voice in decisions when in fact they have none at all.
Bodecia: When I was younger, I was probably more of a Liberal. Now I am a little older, I would tend to sway more toward either Center or Right. I think its because as one gets older, one appreciates the more traditional values more, I dont know.
Show me a person of 20 who isn't a liberal and I'll show you a person with no heart.
Show me a person of 40 who isn't conservative and I'll show you a person with no brain.

Later, I will give the results for that particular survey taking personality into consideration.
From the same survey but taking into consideration personality type, the results were:

lifeisadream: Does Personality predict Political Preference? “Researchers….have shown that:
The psychological concern for compassion and equality is associated with a liberal mindset....
Researchers are also very good at manipulating data to support their own political agenda.
They frequently use statements like 'how many peer reviewed articles do you have', 'how many letters are after your name' or even 'your not an academic, your a blue collar worker' when defending of their views.
It is the desire to see people prosper that motivates a lot of conservative minded people. Throwing money at problems usually doesn't make them go away - it just turns the poor into an industry to be utilised for the generation of wealth.
Likewise a "psychological concern for compassion and equality" is of no benefit to people if it drives the country broke and puts more people beneath the poverty line.
venusenvy: Im liberal and I believe in free PROPER education
You won't get it though. Your defence force is too big and costs too much to run, hence the impossibility of a proper education/health system without massive tax rises. you can't do anything about it either without causing massive unemployment. Reducing your military to a defence force with a small offensive capability would take the best of twenty five years to restructure the entire economy, although it does seem to be something that you are working on step by step.
