In the second world war ( as an example ) some countries remained neutral like SWeden ( as an example ),
so, do YOU think they turned their back to the EU allies ,and why do you think they remained neutral
*** I am asking YOUR opinion. anf your opinion may differ from mine: *** This is a serious poll, so keep it a democratic one *** Please do not stir, trol or clown please...Thank you

In the Third World War there were few neutral countries as some sided with the USSR and some with the US and NATO and their economic allies. In the fourth, which is the war against terrorism one would be hard put to find any nation who is not cooperating in some way shape or form,.
I'd be very interested to know how one equates neutrality with tyranny. In WWII, the EU didn't exist, so Sweden (or Switzerland, where I really think this poll is aimed) couldn't turn their back on their 'EU Allies'. Being neutral by its very nature means that the nations in question have not allied themselves militarily with any other nation.

You mist have been sleeping as they sure as hell were and are world wars. The 'Cold War' ring s bell? How about the 'War on Terror' in which over a hundred countries globally are participating in?

Perhaps you should have stated 'Europe' instead of what is accepted to represent the Europea union? Either way, you overlooked the fact that neutral countries do not have military allies.

So, the premise is specious wouldn't you agree?
Ireland were only 17 years governing themselves, a very poor country and had enough problems themselves. And which side would they have been on considering they had just got out of hundreds of years of opression from Britain Didn't stop tens of thousands of them fighting for the allies though.
Class5: So, it never occurred to you what might happen to neutral European countries that ostracised Germany? Do you blame the Swedish government & people for the actions of its mercantile sector? At least I'm thinking, you seem to be trying, but nothing much is happening.
Albertaghost: He pulled the same thing with Conrad last night as well. One second he's there and the next, he's not and starts his own thread which I presume is due to being banned from Cloud's. Typical of those who don't have a clue - stifle the free speech of others.
I know I'm off this thread.
the ban button is there to stop trolling and stiring

None of the options offered. It depends upon each situation. Perhaps some people just want to mind their own business. While I am to the right of Ghengis Khan, I can think of only one war that took place during the 20th Century in which my country had a legitimate role. That was the war in the Pacific. With the Japanese invading Asia and headed toward Australia with the stated intention to invade the place, there was an obvious need to do something. As for the other wars, none of our business.
