I really don't know how many times a week I eat meat. I do stay away from red meat. I only eat it once in a while. I eat chicken and seafood usually when I eat meat. But in little portions. I agree red meat is bad for me. It makes me feel tired and run down. Veggies and fruit are good. Even with veggies I am careful. Fresh usually good. Canned or frozen I will read package and hope they are telling the truth if not to much sugars or salt then I will eat. But.....once in a while I will go into a fast food place....I don't know the menu at them so it takes a while for me to order. Don't do that. It is called fast food for a reason and people get mad behind you if you take to long reading. Now I stand at distance and read then get in line Plain words I eat what I want when I want.

Zero, i do miss it sometimes, rarely, now i really do prefer favours and textures that taste and feel fresh and make me feel alive after eating not tired like i feel after a meat dish. I guess working in kitchens and cooking large slabs of meat for fat wealthy customers has turned me off also. Personal choice, enjoy ya sausage
Jack68: I like to eat two time white meat in a week.
Where is the option in the poll for non-meat eaters like myself?
I am a vegetarian, almost a raw vegan. I sometimes eat eggs and cheese, otherwise I would pass for a true vegan as I eat mostly fruits, raw veggies and nuts most of the time.

Meat is meat and a man must eat.
Most foods can be included in moderation as part of a healthy diet and steak is no exception. Beef is a good source of protein, iron, zinc and B vitamins.

If the vegies are cooked than it might be true. Juiced even better But Meat digests quicker, this is if you are talking about actual absorption. Of course things like salads are good for the fiber but again longer to digest. Eating yogurt with the live bacteria is good for you and digestion.

The doctor should also have told you to consume at least 8,000mg of fish oil per day. What you describe sounds like inflammation caused by an omega-3 deficiency.

Doctor advised me to avoid alckohal, red meat and red beans only or or to minimize them.
equiya: Yes, on the average vegetarians live 5 years longer than non-vegetarians. Vegans live even longer.
I never liked red meat. I was raised on fish but even that I no longer eat.
My doctor says it is not healthy for people to not eat meat, there are some compounds our bodies need that are only available in meat. I did some checking on your claim that vegetarians live longer than non-vegetarians, not so, may even be the opposite for women.
