When one decides to go on a date with someone she or he has to have something that attracted your eyes, in other words looks matter, yes. If you dont like how a person looks no matter if he / she is handsome or beautiful, I dont think you would date them.
Looks arent everything though, one person can be stunning physically but have a rotten personality or attitude and that can make any one look ugly lol.

How about if the person is overweight, I don't mean really big but a little fat, does that matter to or not? It seems to me that when people say that relationships based on looks doesn't last or you shouln'd care about looks, they have a good looking boyfriend or girlfriend... I find that funny. Chemistry and attracttion just happen...some couples look fabulous together but their relationships are pure crap.

I had it often enough that I was talking to some good looking guy and just thought
In a FEW cases looks can put me off someone (like bad grooming as well) but for me someone intelligent and witty "catches my eye" a lot easier than a "good looking" guy.

Make sure you have an ecard to send to a potential date, if it would be an "issue" with someone you're better off not to meet them (superfial if someone cancels but it saves an arkward meet). Otherwise keep trying, no one is perfect!

Very well said; when one goes out on a date, it should go without thinking about it; you both look the best you can for each other. That implies not looking like you just came out of a dumpster...unless going dumpster diving happens to be your date menu...
