Russia is attempting to consolidate power in the region now. If they can keep NATO out, then the Syria issue becomes theirs to dominate. This timed with the Russian FM saying the US and Russia reset was growing old. Timed also with the US election.
For Washington, Brussels and all the EU capitols, the Russian have placed the world's leading military body into a difficult place. If NATO does not act, it will seem impotent. Scared away from a face off in Syria by only words from the Kremlin.
For the UN, were the Russians have used their Security Council veto to stalemate any UN resolution of the Syrian issue. Impotency already seems to have already taken hold.
So we have Russian expanse in this century. During the Presidency of Barack Obama...that pressed the reset button with a Russian regime and blinked on their world affairs.
Conrad73: Imagine,Romney appointed President by Congress, and Biden appointed Vice President by the Senate!
Hi Conrad! what about if each day they trade off,,,,and the vice presidents would be there to work on the weekends. It would be a confusing 4 years!....LOL ( but really nothing new in this day and age ) ;-}
I vote we make up a Prime Minister for Illusive and Evasive Dialog Or better known as the PM of IEDs. Any thing in the country that verbally can backfire, explode or detonate this PM handles...

Yep,they sure would be the two Oddities of the Century!
Obama: - horrible financial record - caught telling lies, constantly - caught insulting people, intentionally, in public - associated with anti-Americans - got his dreams from his father, an outspoken anti-American
Romney: - excellent financial record - supported by fact checkers - insulted people with bad character, but blamed for insulting good people, and is hated for essentially being too honest about the nature of bad people in our country. sorry victims and takers, you know it's true. - works well with both dominant parties - gets his dreams from the people who actually built this country (yes, they did build it)
This interesting. The poll currently is 52% Obama and 48% Romney. From what I've read on these threads, my impression is that most people here, the majority, are quite conservative, so the fact 52% would vote for Obama is surprising. Hope that's how the national election turns out, with Obama getting the majority of the votes.

Hi, it is one reason I made this poll that members could only vote once unlike all that I have seen where offline people can simply vote over and over,,,I think one poll shows 31000 members voting for one of the choices, obviously there is not that many people here to make that even close to reality. It is surely hard to say what will happen in the upcoming election but I thought it would be interesting to see what would happen here,,,so far 109 members voted..I thought even if 100 voted it would be surprising. Either way it is a very close count indeed. Thanks for your post.

These things would have happened whoever was president, the same with outsourcing, an economic fact of life.

Just out of curiosity, and maybe even help people that actually will be voting for real, HI Jack!,,anyway,,,,do you think that Romney is a good pick or that it is just better to get Obama out of office? I don't know which is worse to be quite honest. I hear things from some friends of mine that seem to be much more up on this political stuff and I hear them going both ways and they both seem to have pretty good points. I know that whatever happens I will have to live with it directly.

Hi Nikogas. I know you won't consider my opinion valid since you already know I'm a Romney supporter, but what about those who supported Obama in the past who are NOW endorsing Romney???
This week alone the Detroit News, the Florida Sun Sentinal, and the Des Moine Register all came out in support of Romney when they were big supporters of Obama in 2008. The overall consensus is that he did not deliver on his promises and we are worse because of it - and they now think Romney's better prepared to lead.

you forget that this is an international Site, and if you're a Member and logged in you can vote, not like a certain other Poll on the same subject!
"It's been 40 years since the Des Moines Register has endorsed a Republican, so this one makes news. The last time was preceding Nixon's re-election against George McGovern.
In a lengthy commentary focused on Romney's managerial chops, his economic vision, and his ability to reach across the aisle, the paper concluded, "Voters should give Mitt Romney a chance to correct the nation’s fiscal course and to implode the partisan gridlock that has shackled Washington and the rest of America — with the understanding that he would face the same assessment in four years if he does not succeed."

Gives an outside and unbiased view of what the rest of the world thinks.

Not really. When you consider that your media info is guided by Soros and our Soros-backed media, international views are unnecessarily colored. Moreover, they skew these poll votes as a result.
