If people can't be happy within themselves, even when there is nothing to do at the moment, then how can they ever be happy with anybody else? Happiness radiates from within, and shows up on the face as a smile.
One thing I notice from checking out hundreds of profiles is that I'm much more attracted to women that have a great smile in their picture. The cute little smile that Jill has in her picture makes her incredibly intriguing to me, because it shows me that there is much more to be discovered behind that smile.

Words have power, even words we say to ourselves. I find myself thanking God every morning I wake up, telling myself what a cool house I get to live in, enough to eat, friendly neighbors, the beach, the bay, the antiques, the pictures on the wall and my good sturdy waffle stomper boots. Everything is jake--we are far more fortunate than we sometimes realize. Our trash would make wealthy people out of some in other countries. You know what else is a choice? Being stressed. People who make "stress" a lifestyle can change that. All it takes is a little re-arranging of priorities. If you find yourself constantly late, especially for work, start out 20 or even 30 minutes earlier. Make THAT a lifestyle, not being late. Schedule things (it works) like housework, grocery shopping. I totally agree with appreciating everything you have been given. I appreciate everything from my kids to the smell of jasmine when I go for a walk and it makes a huge difference in my outlook on life.
You're right about stress too. I find my day at work always goes better when I come early and I have also decided to give up things that cause stress. I only wish I had learned all this when I was younger.

I think it does come from the inside. It is a realization of the things in life that are truly important, and living life in accordance to ones chosen values. ANd choosing those values for oneself is a big part of that, in my opinion

Happiness is just one of our states of mind and I work hard at being happy, sadness sometimes mistaken as depression, is another state of mind. They do truly compliment themselves and are an indicator of how balanced ones life is, I don't mind being sad but I love being happy. Sometimes you need to look at yourself and ask why am I sad it may be the people around you or it maybe just you. What ever the reason there is an solution and action required, I try to be humble and I am grateful so I am happy to be!
