I have worked in, lived in and/or visited 42 countries so far while working for, and mostly paid for by, the US Government. Most of the time was in Europe but have been to 6 of the 7 continents. Bucket list includes trying to make it to Antartica. Strange thing is that I have not yet made a trip AROUND the world. Furthest East has been Thailand (if you do not count the Philippines) and furthest West as been Kuwait (if you don't count Russia and the other Eastern European countries).

I forgot to add that when I lived in a country it was for 2+ years, other countries was for short term work or just passing through (waiting several days to catch a plane in the Philippines for example). In most of those countries where I lived and several of the one's I visited, I had to learn enough of the local language to be able to get around, buy food, etc. I have forgotten most of those languages through non-use although I have lived in Central America, off and on, for over 10 years and now consider Spanish my major second language.
