I never understood when people start talking about one nation when they really do not know "anything" about this nation and culture or may be know little from their friends/movies/books.
I have a nice friend of mine from China. She woorks as a translator here in Kazakhstan and she really does not know what school her child goes and where the things stay just because her husband knows it and she really does not have to be bothered
I also think that it is very wrong idea to think European/american women do not know how to treat their husbands. When I was in North America I stayed with a family and she was a really so great person and it amazed me how she "spoiled" her husband that I even dared to say what she needs him for when she manages to do everything by herself. I know i was not supposed to say that but she really spoiled him badly
If I am not mistaken Russians are not allowed in this site (lol, poor they are) and believe me I got 10 messages everyday from so called "widowed military men from the USA" everyday and the messages are exactly the same except they manage to change their names and height :)
There are such people everywhere but not only in Russia. I believe that "Most women want to go to the west" is very wrong conception. What is waiting for them in the west where they have no friends and families and no good job opportunity. But at their home country they have a good opportunity to realize themselves and build connections. And Russia is doing better than the west with reference the economy too. The problem is that Russia/Ukrain has/have more girls than boys according to the statistics (a lot more) and most russian men drink strong drinks more than they need so those girls have to look for the men outside of their country. This is my personal opinion and I might be wrong too
I am not russian but I have many russian friends (male and female) and I personally think that they are great wives and husbands (great people in general). As we say five fingers in one hand are not of the same height, there are nice and bad people in all nations and cultures. May be they (we all) have different ways of thinking depending where we are from but it does not mean that they are all bad and can always cause heart attacts. It is beyond my comprehension when some people try to blame whole country or nation just because of two or three people they know or heard about from those countries.
MMM , I love hnd made noodles and my fauforite dish is Lagman (I am not sure if you guys have something similiar to it or not) and my mom makes the noodles herself withiout using any food processor. She makes dough and rolls with rolling until it is approximately 0.7 cm and cuts and then starts to roll this cuts with her hand on the table using just vegtable oil and when it is thin like spaghetti she boils them and uses yummy broth on the top. MMM, now i want Lagman now but my mom can not do lagman anymore since she had a ver bad car accident last year :(
I believe it is really difficult to relocate and leave behind your family, friends and go somewhere where you do know anybody and might have language problems and cultural shock. I do not think I could relocate
Yesterday I was given a children's book about vehicles to translate into Kazakh from English. There is a sentence in the book where truck and lorry meets and it confuses me since I know only one word for both truck and lorry in Kazakh language since truck and lorry are synonyms for me. Is not lorry british version of american truck? Can You guys explain the difference between truck and lorry? Thanks in advance
I am planning to go to Turkey soon to meet a guy who i met online, from other site. We will see what is going to happen and if it does not work then i would see Turkey at least
Tired with all these, for restful death I cry, As to behold desert a beggar born, And needy nothing trimm'd in jollity, And purest faith unhappily forsworn...
RE: What Language Do You Speak At Home?
Of course Kazakh!
