Friend of mine is a surgeon from Belarus now married to an american woman. His ex wife ran off with their son, nowhere to be found. That was 17 or so years ago. Last year, he gets a summons to appear in court in New York!!. His ex wife since managed to come to the US and she was suing him for 19 years of child support and 19 years of alimony!! They went to court, he told that he wanted to pay, but she was nowhere to be found, so he has to pay the back child support, which is fair, but the alimony claim was dismissed.

I am not russian but I have many russian friends (male and female) and I personally think that they are great wives and husbands (great people in general). As we say five fingers in one hand are not of the same height, there are nice and bad people in all nations and cultures. May be they (we all) have different ways of thinking depending where we are from but it does not mean that they are all bad and can always cause heart attacts.
It is beyond my comprehension when some people try to blame whole country or nation just because of two or three people they know or heard about from those countries.

There are such people everywhere but not only in Russia. I believe that "Most women want to go to the west" is very wrong conception. What is waiting for them in the west where they have no friends and families and no good job opportunity. But at their home country they have a good opportunity to realize themselves and build connections. And Russia is doing better than the west with reference the economy too. The problem is that Russia/Ukrain has/have more girls than boys according to the statistics (a lot more) and most russian men drink strong drinks more than they need so those girls have to look for the men outside of their country. This is my personal opinion and I might be wrong too

If I am not mistaken Russians are not allowed in this site (lol, poor they are) and believe me I got 10 messages everyday from so called "widowed military men from the USA" everyday and the messages are exactly the same except they manage to change their names and height :)

Several years ago (when I was ignorant about the subject) I was having a email relationship with a good looking lady from Ukraine. She was very pretty and told me that there are very few men in her area and those that there were drank vodka all day and have no money. Within a week she had decided to fly to the US to be with me and she had already hopped a short flight to Moscow where she could get a flight to America but she didn't realize how expensive everything was in Moscow so she ran out of money. She also got mugged outside the room she rented til her flight departed. She emailed me from the landladies computer at the boarding house.
Around this time I had learned about the Russian Blacklist and found her listed with 17 different names this is just one but not the name she gave me.

The same thing happened in Finland where the younger men left the country to make money and advoid the high taxes in Finland. There were always 2-3 gals for every man and they contacted the men, not visa versa as in other countries.
As to Russia, when I worked there, the only women I met were very pretty but way too expensive. But, of course, they had to work for their pimps.

My reply is always the same. If I would have met them in real life it might be absolutely fine but on this basis its not gonna work.
I must believe they are good at heart these girls. Just in bad situations.

I've gone out on a couple of dates with Russian women I met locally online. They were nice, very well educated,professional over 40 women. They didn't have the model pictures but looked nice just the same. I have to agree with some of you here, if the lady's pictures look too__ professionally taken,( I'll give them credit, they do look great)then it's most likely a scam.
