DjWabbet: I guess it depends on where you are in the world, over here the police are generally good, but there have been instances where police conduct has been called into question but that in itself can be said to be true of all police forces in the world.

So yes i trust them, not to solve my problems but to assist and help me if it was ever required.

I would rather live in a world with police than without.

L_B76: i would see them without their wage for a few months..
what they gonna do...
now they are doing not much...
take away they wage they gonna do nothing at all...
lets be honest here...
between all coops
how many take seriously their job?
don't tell me all of them why u know very well isn't true!!!!

As far as taking their jobs seriously.... Would you agree that on Sept. 11, 2001, the police officers that rushed into burning buildings did take their jobs seriously?

The police officers who went to Sandy Hook Elementary School did take their jobs seriously?

Look at your local newspaper. More then likely there was an accident.....police were at the scene.....did they take their job seriously.

The motto of the police in the U.S. is "To Serve And Protect The Public". That covers a whole big area for them to get to.

montemonte: Did you check to see if something more important was happening that needed their attention?

Your brother's house was broken into. From what you wrote, nobody was killed. It was a matter of stolen goods.

I understand that your brother's house is important. But if there was a major accident on the highway where people were killed and all the police needed to be at the scene, would that be acceptable to you that the police were delayed?

People want to believe that they are the only one who needs attention. It happens in doctors offices and law offices. Everybody thinks that their situation is more important then somebody elses and that's not always the case.

If I call the police about a barking dog that is waking up my baby every night and they don't come for an hour, should I assume that something more important came up and they will eventually get here? It's not a matter of life and death.

In essence LB, the world doesn't revolve around just one person.

all i know and see about italian COPS..
and not only...
saw few things wrong on UK COPS too...
they get paid with public money, which is ok..
but hell..
in a town of 2000 souls how many crimes can happen at once...
and more in the time my bro found his apartment got almost destroyed plus the missing things...

monte the fact is.... who gets paid with PUBLIC MONEY..... become lazy...

Ambulance drivers aren't cops in the U.S.

You said "who gets paid with PUBLIC MONEY..... become lazy..."

So since ambulance drivers are paid by the public are you saying that they are lazy?

Well I think those stinking cops should all be fired.

In fact, I think we should make them pay back all the money they scammed from the town.

And ya know what, all the medical bills that were paid by the insurance company should be paid back too

Lets put them in their families in dire straits, make them go to dumpsters for food and live under a bridge.

They don't deserve to have wear the uniform.

Yeah, those stinkin cops should all own donut shops doh

You're trying to wiggle out of the statement you made when you said anyone who gets paid by the public is lazy.

And I asked you about ambulance drivers (who are paid by the public).

And by the way, I know that there are lazy cops; I know that there are cops on the take; and I know that there some cops are worse then criminals.

But I also know that cops are the one I will call when I need help.

I'm trying to have a civil debate with you.
