What is beauty? how do You measure it? I think beauty is a multitude of different qualities, i know alot of people base it on physical factors alone and that's their perogative to do that but to me beauty is intelligence, grace, humour, empathy, love,laughter, and many other things. Does physical beauty come into the equation? of course it does, but who i consider to be beautiful another may not and vice versa, it's a personal thing, developed over a life time and formed by life experience, personal preference and your own personality traits, among other things. So i guess what i'm trying to say (and not too well) is that if You truly love someone then to You they ARE the most beautiful person that has ever lived, and no body else comes close.

if they change within then they're no longer the person You fell in love with, physically they may be the same but the person they were no longer exists, i guess that's the risk we take when we choose to love someone, but what to do about it? do you stay or do you leave?

Beauty on the outside will always be dependent on the beauty on the inside. Well this is so for me.
I have met some incredibly stunning people to look at on the outside, but they have been the most ugly people in reality.
But I suppose each person has their preferences of what is beautiful. For me I think it comes down to the whole package. Like anything, I don't think that perfection can be found, but if there is more that I like than that I don't like. Then this is beautiful to me.
People do change for many reasons. Me, I still love the person that I married initially, but she no longer exists. She died inside. I grieved and have moved on after fighting an unwinable war with the demon that took over from the angel.
Beauty is a living thing, and as with all living things, they change over time. Yes, even what we consider beautiful changes over time, in my opinion.

Y'know, when I was a newbie I recall a whole load of long-term forumites reminiscing over a thread from yeeeaaarrs before and doing the cyber equivelant of shrieking with laughter.

No, that special person that loves you knows you are ugly, but now they have gotten used to looking at you, and in fact now like it. As an old favourite comfortable chair that needs recovering but you know you never will because you love it just like it is, such is the love for an ugly partner.
