I've had many dreams that have predicted things I couldn't have possibly known about. One was the sudden, unexpected death of my father; another was the murder of a friend I hadn't seen in over 2 years. I could name many more.
Actually,in February this year,i woke up in the night, startled by a dream,(and i never ever remember dreams),looked at the clock,it was 04.15. At 05.15,i recieved a phone call from the UK,imforming me of the death of the person in my dream. So,i awoke from having this dream at the same time this person died, bearing in mind the Uk is 1 hour ahead in time. I cant explain it.

a psychiatrist told me ( and i haven't verified the validity of this info) that there 3 kinds of dreams depending on which part of sleep you have them. the first when you've just gotten sleep are events of the day. 2nd part during deep sleep are your desires. And the last, when you're nearing the end of your sleep, or before waking up probably in the early morning, are prophetic dreams.
In that state of rest, the brain can do the most amazing things.
I sometimes am a lucid dreamer, meaning there are times I realize I am dreaming and can therefore experience them so keenly.
Also, musical compositions flow through my dreams sometimes and are beautiful, but they are mostly gone within the first few moments as I am rising to wakefulness. It can be frustrating not being able to capture them before they disappear.
Prophetic dreams? I'm not sure if I've experienced that yet.
