I still think It will be a narrow NO vote.
I want a yes vote for selfish reasons but it could quiet easily end up like the Quebec vote yrs ago.
if scotland vote yes... we have a great chance of a united ireland! some day......scotland wanting to break free from england is like the movie ''brave-heart''
fifitheminx: can anyone tell me in laymans terms..cos im a bit thick like..
what changes if Scotland become independent?
.
I would say reduced taxes for a start,.. People in Scotland I think will show more innititive and have more incentive to do well for themselves by themselves choosing for themselves rather than west minister,,,Scotland will be independant , It's very Easey to throw in negatives bit at the end of the day it means Scottish people will be in charge of their own destiny come what may.

Basically Scotland will once again be in total control of her destiny. With NATO looking on in the side...(they're worried about Trident among other things)
Look at it as a high stakes poker game with the billions of untapped oil & gas at stake (hence the three musketeers going to Scotland today to show a untied front)..
Britain is afraid incase it loses it's seat at the UN security council and it's standing in world affairs is down graded..And Britain is crapping itself incase Alex Salmond defaults on the UK national debt and it'll increase the debt on England, Wales & the o6c...
An if they do break away then there is a real chance of a vote on the position of the o6c...
well not everyone can grasp current affairs..or decipher political blurb..
For the lads down the gorbals and the sheep farmers with one tooth up north..which will indeed make up a lot of the voters..how are the pro independence people wording and selling independence to them...telling them how its all going to change the small man/woman/childs lives for the better.

There is a chance of a vote on Northern Ireland's position in the UK, but the result would be a foregone conclusion, a massive majority in favour of remaining.
I'm just watching the newse and the 3 musketeers as pheonix puts it,
I like David Cameran he convinces himself I think but I get the feeling in his heart he would like to say scots vote yes but think his passion for politics and looking good in Europe means he going with his head,
The no polition for Scotland is coming out with comments we will beat them just like we did the Germans,
That's pretty desperate bringing up Germany.will they ever be able to put it behind them.
Is that the queens keeper, I say they are quite taken with the highlands, the queen is a jolly good sportswoman.
She got stuck in the snow once on the highlands in her jeep, and a large stag came out of nowhere and just stayed with her till help arrived,. She gets upset when they are shot,
I watched it on tv her talking about it,,..she has a stiff upper lip but I do believe she is a great animal lover.
It will probably be a NO vote, an opinion poll released yesterday has the No side ahead by 53-47%. Saying that the Tories, Labour and the Lib Dems are quite desperate judging by Cameron's comments yesterday.

We can't afford a United Ireland even in the good times, a UI would ultimately bankrupt Ireland again. NI has a bloated public sector, over 17% of the population are over 65 and a sizeable section of the population are on welfare benefits.

mmmm ...seems some of the financial sector tend ti agree ? Yet there's a strong opposite argumemt -perhaps economics have outdated ideals / morals / democracy in the choice for self determined destiny ?
Absolutely Yes, if Ireland had a referendum on Irish independence we would jump at the chance to be free of the chains of British rule in part of Ireland, Any Scottish man who does not take the opportunity to vote Yes is wasting his right to vote for freedom and independence, currency wise I think Scotland needs to form a new currency that`s not under Brit rule or European rule, Go on Scotland, Ireland watches eagerly. Yes all the way.
